About

Sunset Sherbet was bred by Mario Guzmán, who operates under the name Mr. Sherbinski, working out of the San Francisco Bay Area in partnership with the Cookies Family collective. The cross is Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies crossed with Pink Panties, the latter being a hybrid from Burmese Kush and Florida Kush genetics. The cross reportedly happened by accident at Sherbinski's grandmother's house, where a male Pink Panties plant pollinated a room full of GSC while the breeders were away for a weekend. What started as an accidental pollination became a foundational strain. Sunset Sherbet is itself one of the direct parents of Gelato, which is crossed with Thin Mint GSC to produce the Gelato line. Through Gelato, Sunset Sherbet's genetics also flow into Runtz and dozens of other modern commercial hybrids. That ancestry is why the strain is important even if it no longer shows up on dispensary shelves as often as its descendants. The terpene profile is well-distributed with a modest caryophyllene lead. Caryophyllene sits at 0.38%, with limonene at 0.26% and myrcene at 0.14% in second and third positions. Linalool at 0.12% adds a floral softness, and the presence of humulene at 0.10% contributes the earthy note that balances out what would otherwise read as a straightforwardly sweet strain. Our database chemotype classification is "Purple (Caryophyllene-dominant)", and THC ranges between 17.2 and 23.3% across the lab samples. Reviewers describe the effects as creative first, then hungry, with relaxed and uplifted as secondary characteristics. That effect profile is consistent with Sunset Sherbet's reputation as a daytime-friendly indica that does not fully sedate, which is part of why it became such a useful parent for later breeding projects.

Why does Sunset Sherbet feel pain-relieving?

Sunset Sherbet's pain-relieving effects are linked to its dominant caryophyllene (0.38%), one of the few terpenes that binds directly to CB2 cannabinoid receptors. Complemented by limonene (0.26%), known for mood elevation and stress relief.
