For dab rigs, this is your heat soak window. For torch vapes, use it as a rest timer between bowls or heat cycles. Set it to “none” if you do not need it.

When you torch a quartz banger, the surface closest to the flame gets far hotter than the rest. If you load concentrate immediately, the contact points are too hot – the result is combustion, harsh vapour, and a blackened banger.
By waiting through a cool-down period, you let the heat distribute evenly. The sweet spot for most bangers is around 400–550°F (205–288°C) – hot enough to vaporise your concentrate, but cool enough to preserve the terpenes that give each strain its flavour. A timed heat soak is the single biggest thing you can do to improve the quality of your dabs.
