About

Kush Mints was bred by Anthony "JBeezy" Hart at Seed Junky Genetics in Southern California, the same operation behind Wedding Cake and Ice Cream Cake. The cross is Bubba Kush pollen applied to a clone-only Animal Mints cut, producing an indica-leaning hybrid that inherited Bubba's earthy-spicy base and Animal Mints' sweeter, mint-forward aromatic character. The strain was released as clone-only and feminized-seed form, with the original Seed Junky cut being notoriously difficult to source outside the established SoCal grower network. Numerous seed banks have since released their own takes on Kush Mints crosses, which is why the strain shows up with different breeder attributions across different databases. Kush Mints became influential as breeding stock, helping establish the mint-forward category as a recognizable branch of modern boutique cannabis. The terpene profile is citrus-forward despite the indica classification. Limonene leads at 0.59%, with caryophyllene at 0.42%, linalool at 0.22%, and myrcene at 0.20% in supporting positions. That linalool concentration is worth noting, since linalool is the lavender-floral terpene and its presence at 0.22% is part of what gives Kush Mints its distinctive soft mint-candy aromatic note rather than a harsher OG-family fuel character. Our database chemotype classification is "Yellow (Limonene-dominant)", an unusual tag for an indica-classified strain. THC ranges between 22 and 29.8% across the lab samples in our database, which is on the high end of commercial potency and consistent with Kush Mints' reputation as a heavy-hitting strain. The effects and flavors records are both blank in our database, which is a notable data gap given the strain's commercial importance. Consumers looking for effect information should consult external sources.

Why does Kush Mints have these effects?

Kush Mints's effects are driven by its dominant limonene (0.59%), known for mood elevation and stress relief, combined with caryophyllene (0.42%), one of the few terpenes that binds directly to CB2 cannabinoid receptors.
