Fire

Fire cannabis typically displays dense, well-trimmed buds covered in a thick layer of frosty trichomes. The aroma is complex and strong, filling the room when the container is opened. The smoke or vapor is flavorful and smooth, and the effects are potent and long-lasting. Fire can apply to any strain or category: an indica can be fire, a sativa can be fire, and a concentrate can be fire. The term describes execution quality rather than a specific type of cannabis.

Fire has been cannabis slang since at least the 1990s and remains widely used today. It has crossed over into general slang where fire means excellent or impressive in any context. In cannabis, the term is both an adjective (that flower is fire) and a noun (I got some fire from the dispensary). The fire emoji has become a universal symbol of quality approval in cannabis social media. When a budtender says a strain is fire, they are giving their personal stamp of approval on both the growing quality and the consumer experience.
