An oil-based cannabis extract used in tinctures, capsules, vape cartridges, or cooking to deliver cannabinoids.
Cannabis oil is a broad term for any oil-based extract derived from the cannabis plant. These oils can be consumed sublingually, added to food, filled into capsules, used in vape cartridges, or applied topically. Cannabis oils vary widely in composition, from THC-dominant oils that produce strong psychoactive effects to CBD-focused oils used for wellness support.
CO2 oil is extracted using pressurized carbon dioxide, producing a clean, terpene-rich product commonly used in vape cartridges. Rick Simpson Oil (RSO) is a full-spectrum, thick, dark oil made through ethanol extraction, traditionally used for medicinal purposes. Distillate is a highly refined oil that isolates specific cannabinoids. MCT-based tinctures blend cannabis extract with medium-chain triglyceride carrier oil for sublingual use. Each type has a different cannabinoid and terpene profile depending on the source material and extraction method.
When selecting cannabis oil, consider your intended use. For sublingual dosing, choose a tincture with clear dosing instructions and lab-tested potency. For vaping, look for cartridges that use cannabis-derived terpenes rather than artificial cutting agents. For cooking, decarboxylated oils work best. Always check the certificate of analysis for potency and purity. Start with a low dose and adjust gradually, especially with oral consumption where effects can take longer to appear and last for several hours.
