This chocolate bunny bong Easter DIY turns a hollow Easter bunny into a fully functional (if temporary) cannabis water pipe using items you likely already own. You need hot water, a downstem, a bowl, an O-ring, and a knife — and about 10 minutes of setup. Here are 5 simple steps to pull it off before the chocolate melts.
What You Need for a Chocolate Bunny Bong Easter DIY
Before you start, gather these supplies for your Easter bunny bong DIY: a medium or large hollow chocolate Easter bunny (bigger is better — more room for water and the downstem), a downstem from any bong, a bowl piece, an assortment of O-rings or grommets to seal the downstem hole, a knife for carving the carb, hot water to heat-mold the chocolate, and paper towels for cleanup. A larger hollow chocolate bunny bong will hold more water and give you a better hit — the small ones are too cramped to fit a standard downstem without punching through the base.
5 Simple Steps — Chocolate Bunny Bong Easter DIY
- Heat the downstem and melt a hole in the bunny’s forehead — Boil water or microwave a cup for 4 minutes. Submerge your chocolate bong downstem in the hot water until it is warm to the touch — not scalding. Press the heated downstem against the front of the bunny’s forehead and slowly rotate it while applying light pressure. The warmth melts the chocolate cleanly without cracking it. Pull the downstem away, let the hole cool and firm up, then reinsert once the chocolate is solid again. Leaving it in while hot will cause the hole to keep enlarging.
- Fit an O-ring around the downstem for a seal — Slide an appropriately sized O-ring onto the downstem before reinserting it. This creates a seal between the stem and the chocolate wall that prevents air from leaking around the joint. Test fit a few O-ring sizes from a kit — the ring should compress slightly against the bunny’s surface when the stem is at the correct depth. Without a seal, your Easter cannabis water pipe will feel loose and the draw will be weak.
- Cut a carb hole in one ear — Use a knife to cut or shave the tip off one ear. This becomes your carb hole — cover it with a finger while drawing, then release to clear the hit. Alternatively, cut a rounded opening you can press your lips against directly if you are skipping a mouthpiece attachment. Save the chocolate ear piece — you may need to melt it and use it to patch any leaks around the downstem.
