Best Weed Grinders 2026: My 3 Picks and an Honorable Mention

My three favorite weed grinders in 2026: the toothless Black Leaf 5-piece that's a steal at around 50 euros, the Old Mate Designs Aroma 2 that's probably my favorite of the bunch, and Cannabis Hardware's three-piece, the sexiest grinder I own. Plus the 4-inch Santa Cruz Shredder that earns an honorable mention for its built-in storage.

Three grinders have earned a permanent spot in my rotation. In this one I'm breaking down what each does best, who it's for, and the honorable mention I still grab for one specific job.

Black Leaf 5-Piece CNC Grinder: the budget pick

Black Leaf's 5-piece runs a toothless design. Instead of the classic diamond teeth, the cutting edges are machined straight into the CNC'd aluminum. It's a 4-stage grinder, about 2.4 inches across (62/58mm), and it comes in five colors: pink, black, gold, green, and silver. Mine's the green one.

At around 50 euros it's the least expensive of the three, and at that price it's genuinely hard to beat. If you're price conscious, this is the one I'd point you at.

Old Mate Designs Aroma 2: probably my favorite

The Aroma 2 is Old Mate Designs' 2-stage grinder, just under 2.5 inches across (62.5mm), at around 84 euros. Of the three, this one is probably my favorite.

It's not perfect though. Two stages instead of three, and it's not very big, so it leaves a little to be desired when you want to grind more at once.

Old Mate also makes the Aroma 3 XL: same design, three stages, and bigger. I haven't used one myself yet, but if I were pointing you at a single grinder to buy today, that's probably the call.

Cannabis Hardware Three-Piece Grinder: the sexy one

Cannabis Hardware's three-piece is the sexiest grinder I own. CNC'd aluminum with a mandala and their logo machined into it. Nothing else in this lineup comes close on looks.

Honorable mention: the 4-inch Santa Cruz Shredder

The 4-inch Santa Cruz Shredder didn't crack the top three, but it's not going anywhere. I like the size and the color, and it has a lot of space for herb storage: grind and stash in one piece. I did a full review of the 4-piece Rasta Jumbo if you want the deep dive.

Which one should you get?

Price conscious: the Black Leaf, easy. Want my favorite: the Aroma 2, or the Aroma 3 XL if budget allows. After the best looking piece on the table: Cannabis Hardware’s 3-Stage. Need storage built in: that's the Santa Cruz's job.

Whichever one you land on, keep it clean. A gunked-up grinder ruins the whole experience, and I've got five tips for that already waiting for you. Happy grinding.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a toothless grinder?
Instead of the classic diamond-shaped teeth, a toothless grinder has its cutting edges machined directly into the aluminum. The Black Leaf 5-piece in this roundup uses a toothless CNC design.
What is the difference between a 2-stage and a 4-stage grinder?
The stages are the levels your herb passes through. A 2-stage grinder is two halves that grind, and that's it. More stages add chambers below, typically a collection chamber and a fine screen, so a 4-stage grinder grinds, collects, and sifts in one piece.
Are expensive weed grinders worth it?
Not automatically. The Black Leaf 5-piece runs around 50 euros and is hard to beat at that price. Paying more gets you size, looks, and design details, which is exactly what the Aroma 2 and the Cannabis Hardware three-piece bring.
What size weed grinder should I get?
My three favorites all sit around 2.4 to 2.5 inches (62mm), which covers everyday use. If you want to grind more at once or want built-in storage, go bigger, like the 4-inch Santa Cruz Shredder.
