Can you turn Mighty into a Volcano? Technically yes — and Fordee does it live on camera. The setup uses a Storz & Bickel Mighty+ connected to a rubber whip adapter and a battery-powered electronic vacuum pipe. The vacuum pipe’s fan draws vapor through the tube and pushes it out the end, converting the Mighty from a handheld vaporizer into something closer to a desktop whip system. It works. Whether you should do it depends on what gear you already own.
What This Mighty Hack Actually Does
A real Volcano stores vapor in a balloon — this setup doesn’t do that. What it does is attach the Mighty to a fan-driven vacuum pipe via a whip adapter, so the vacuum pipe’s motor draws vapor through the tube instead of you pulling manually. The result is a continuous, forced-air flow similar to how a Volcano bag fills. It’s what Fordee calls “the Lazy Man’s Volcano” — and the name is accurate.
Turn Mighty Into a Volcano: 5 Easy Steps
Step 1: Get the Parts
You need three things to turn Mighty into a Volcano setup:
- Storz & Bickel Mighty or Mighty+ — the vaporizer itself
- L-shaped whip adapter with rubber tubing — slides over the Mighty’s mouthpiece
- Electronic vacuum pipe — a battery-powered device with a fan that draws from wherever you connect it
Fordee originally made the whip adapter for a different project (an epic hash session with a hash kettle and bong) and repurposed it here. If you have a different vaporizer with a water pipe adapter (WPA), you could skip the whip and connect directly via WPA instead.
Step 2: Load the Mighty
Pack the Mighty as usual. Fordee recommends the AirVape Legacy loading tool, which also fits the Mighty’s chamber. Put the chamber piece down and close the mouthpiece. Use the kickstand to prop it up while you connect the adapter — you’ll need both hands free for the next step.
