The Pax 3 beach day adventure is Fordee’s field test of the PAX 3 Amber Edition limited edition — an outdoor stealth mode experiment that takes the vaporizer from unboxing to hitting it at the beach, surrounded by people, while cops walk by. This review covers the PAX 3 app walkthrough, both bowl attachments, stealth mode in real-world conditions, and 4 things you should know before taking your PAX 3 outdoors.
PAX 3 Amber Edition Limited Edition: What’s in the Box
The PAX 3 amber edition limited edition comes with everything in the standard PAX 3 kit plus the amber-gold colorway. Contents:
- PAX 3 unit (amber/gold limited edition finish)
- Booklet and documentation
- Small carrying case
- Keychain scraper tool (doubles as a packer)
- Concentrate insert (for hash, rosin, wax)
- Half-bowl oven lid (for smaller loads)
- Extended mouthpiece (alternative to the slim flat mouthpiece)
- USB charging cable
- Maintenance kit (pipe cleaners, etc.)
2 Bowl Options: Regular vs. Half Bowl
The PAX 3 amber edition limited edition comes with two oven lids: the standard full-pack lid and the half-bowl lid. The standard lid holds a bigger load — you’ll pack more herb but need to stir more often since one side tends to get more heat than the other. The half-bowl lid is the better choice for solo sessions or concentrates: smaller load means less stirring, more even vaporization, and less wasted herb. The oven lid is magnetic — it just pops off from the bottom of the unit.
PAX 3 App Walkthrough and Pairing
The PAX 3 app walkthrough pairing process takes about 2 minutes. Open the PAX app, enable Bluetooth, and tap the + button to add a new device. Select PAX 3. Turn on the unit by pressing the mouthpiece with the device right-side up. When prompted, wiggle the PAX 3 back and forth — it turns blue and connects. Name your device, skip the data sharing and tutorial prompts, and you’re in.
