Method 3 — Hydrotube Salt Cleaning Method (Standard Maintenance)

The Hydrotube salt cleaning method is the go-to for regular upkeep. Turn the Hydrotube upside down and pour a small amount of coarse salt into the bottom opening. Add a little water, cover the hole with your finger, and shake vigorously for 30 to 60 seconds. The salt acts as a physical abrasive, scrubbing the inside walls and dislodging residue that water alone can’t shift. Blow out the salt water the same way as the water flush. You may taste the salt briefly — that just means it worked. Repeat if needed.

Method 4 — Clean Davinci Hydrotube with Isopropyl (Deep Clean)

For stubborn resin buildup or heavy yellowing, clean Davinci Hydrotube with isopropyl alcohol. Pour isopropyl directly into the Hydrotube, cover the opening, and shake for a minute or two. The alcohol dissolves the resin coating that salt and water can’t fully reach. Expel it over a sink — blow it out through the mouthpiece.

After expelling, let the Hydrotube sit and fully evaporate before using it again. Then run the Hydrotube salt cleaning method once more to rinse out any residue, followed by clean water. At that point your Hydrotube is as close to brand new as it’s getting.

Tips for Keeping Your Hydrotube Clean Longer

• Rinse after every few sessions — a quick water flush prevents resin from building up to the isopropyl stage
• Use coarse salt, not fine — fine salt dissolves too quickly to do much abrasive work
