Medical patients often pay lower taxes (sometimes zero state cannabis tax), have access to higher potency products and larger purchase limits, can access dispensaries at age 18 rather than 21, receive medical-grade consultation, and in some states have reciprocity agreements allowing purchase in other medical states. In states without recreational legalization, a medical card is the only legal pathway to cannabis access.
