This RAW Six Shooter review covers everything you need to know about RAW’s cone rolling machine — the easiest way to fill 6 pre-rolled cones at once. Fordee demos the full process, explains how to switch between 1, 2, 3, or 6 cone mode, and shares 3 pro tips for a better burn.
RAW Six Shooter Review: What Is This Cone Machine?
The RAW cone rolling machine is a plastic cone-filler that holds pre-rolled cones upright while you pack them with ground cannabis. The RAW Six Shooter gets its name from being able to fill up to 6 cones at the same time. It costs around $20 and comes with a packer tool and manual. Fordee says he’s been buying pre-rolled cones from dispensaries for years but never tried filling them at home until he found this thing.
RAW Six Shooter Review: Step-by-Step Walkthrough
Learning how to fill pre-rolled cones with the RAW Six Shooter is simple — here’s the full process from Fordee’s demo:
- Choose your mode. The center dial controls how many cones you can fill at once. Unscrew the center dial completely to drop it out — this opens up all 6 slots. For fewer cones, keep the dial in and adjust to show 1, 2, or 3 holes.
- Drop in the cones. Place RAW pre-rolled cones into each slot. One cone may need its tip opened with the packer — press gently from the bottom to pop it up, then use the packer to open the opening.
- Fill with ground cannabis. Dump your ground flower directly into the top of the machine. You don’t need to aim — just fill the whole chamber and the cannabis falls into each cone. Fordee grinds his cannabis before starting.
- Put the cap on and tap 10–15 times. Place the top cap on, then tap/hit it firmly against your rolling tray 10 to 15 times. The more you tap, the tighter the pack. Some small bits will fall through gaps — that’s normal.
- Remove the cap and push cones up. Take the cap off and use the bottom push plate to elevate the cones slightly. Move any remaining cannabis around with the packer to fill gaps.
- Pinch and twist each tip. Pull each cone out and pinch the tip, then twist to seal. Done — 6 cones ready to go.
3 Pro Tips for Your RAW Cone Rolling Machine
These six shooter cone filler tips from Fordee’s experience with the RAW cone rolling machine will save you from common mistakes:
- Don’t over-pack. Packing too tight means the joint won’t burn evenly. Fordee says aim for firm but not rock-solid — the cone should feel well-loaded but still have some airflow.
- Always use filtered cones. RAW cones come with built-in paper filters at the bottom, which means less wasted cannabis and a cleaner smoke. Never smoke without a filter if you can avoid it.
- Do 3 cones at a time for best results. Fordee normally does 3-at-a-time and finds the packing is more even than 6. Six cones works but may need a bit more manual redistribution after the tapping step.
Is the RAW Six Shooter Worth It? Pre-Rolled Cone Machine Review Verdict
This pre-rolled cone machine review verdict: absolutely worth it at ~$20. Keep these six shooter cone filler tips in mind and this RAW six shooter review will make you a convert. Fordee says rolling a single joint by hand takes longer than filling 6 cones with the Six Shooter. The machine isn’t perfect at 6-cone mode, but it’s far faster than hand-rolling.
